Clinical Study on 205 Cases of Female Menopausal Syndrome Treated with
Herbal Remedy B

ABSTRACT from original article

405 cases of female menopausal syndrome were randomly divided into treatment group ( 205 cases ), control
group ( 100 )and open group ( 100 ).

The treatment group was administrated orally 4
herbal remedy B capsules and 4 analog starch tablets, 3 times
daily.
The control group was administrated  orally 4 capsules of
herbal remedy A and 4 analog starch tablets, 3 times
daily
The open group, only 4
herbal remedy B tablets, 3 times daily
The courses in the 3 groups were 30 days. Clinical symptoms and laboratory indixes were observed before and
after treatment.

Results

Treatment Group:
The total effective rate was 96.10%, the significant effective rate was 65.36%, estradiol (E2) increased ( P<
0.001 ); follicule-stimulating hormone ( FSH ), luteotropic hormone ( LH ) decreased slightly
(P>0.05); vaginal scaling cell mature index (MI) increased (P<0.01); and clinical symptom cumulative scores
decreased signifiicantly (P<0.01 or P<0.001). Abormal safty index did not be found in the treatment group.

Control Group:
The total effective rate was 86%, the significant effective rate was 40%, E2 increased (P<0.05); FSH and LH did
not change significantly (P>0.05); MI increased (P<0.01); clinical symptom cumulative score decreased
significantly (P<0.01).

Open Group
The total effective rate was 99%, the significant effective rate was 66%, E2 increased (P<0.001); FSH and LH
did not have significant change (P>0.05); MI increased (P<0.05); clinical symptom cumulative score decreased
significantly (P<0.001).

Conclusion
Herbal remedy A and B both may help the female menopausal syndrom. But the herbal remedy B is better than
A. There is significantly difference.

Suggesting that herbal remedy B can increase E2 level and it is effective and safe to treatment of female
menopausal symdrom.
